Last weekend 34 year 9 and 10 students went to France for a busy weekend of cultural immersion and experiences. We started by visiting Boulangerie d'Escoeuilles where the students helped make bread and sampled the most delicious pain au chocolat. Over the weekend we visited several WW1 sites including the amazing museum at Passchendaele, the Essex Farm Dressing Station, Thiepval Memorial along with the preserved Canadian and German trenches at Vimy Ridge. Students had opportunities to interact with the public as they shopped for chocolate in Ypres and at the Sunday market. Before the journey home we spent the morning at Nausiccaá, the largest aquarium in Europe, where we saw the Oceanic manta Ray. Staff and students had a fantastic weekend and have made memories to last a lifetime.
