On Thursday, 18th July 2024, our school celebrated Primary Sports Day, an event that saw enthusiastic participation from all students, ranging from Nursery to Year 6. This special day was packed with a variety of activities designed to test and enhance the students' coordination, agility, speed, and balance.
Our young people engaged in numerous fun and challenging events, including the bean bag throw, sack race, skipping, obstacle race, football dribbling, and javelin throw. Each activity provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
A highlight of the day was the competitive race, where the fastest runners in each class were awarded a medal/sticker on our podium. Every student also received winning stickers for their participation and achievements in each event!
Our Year 10 OCR PE students played a crucial role in the success of the day, diligently scoring and assisting with each race. Their support and encouragement were invaluable and greatly appreciated by both the younger students and the school staff.
The event was well-attended and wholeheartedly supported by parents and carers. Their presence and enthusiasm added to the atmosphere of the day. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their ongoing support.
At the end of the day, the scores from all activities were tallied. In the Nursery to Year 2 sports day, Walliams (Green) House emerged victorious, while in the Year 3 to 6 sports day, Rowling (Purple) House claimed the top spot.
Primary Sports Day 2024 was a resounding success, celebrating our students' dedication, teamwork, and athletic abilities. We look forward to many more such events in the future!
