Careers at Unity Academy:
"students cannot be what they cannot see"
At Unity Academy, our mission is to empower every student, irrespective of starting point, to succeed and achieve their highest potential. We are committed to delivering a high-quality, stable careers program, in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring that every student receives robust guidance and support as they navigate their path towards employment, further education, or training.
Our careers program takes a holistic approach and focuses on individual needs, supporting each student in developing the skills, cultural capital, knowledge and work ethic required to contribute meaningfully to our society.
The opportunities we provide are driven by research, and informed by an astute understanding of our local context. We focus on breaking down perceived barriers, and addressing career stereotypes, with a clear vision of ensuring our students know there is no limit to their potential.
By connecting with the local labour market, we provide real-world insights into career opportunities within Blackpool, Lancashire and beyond. Through strong partnerships with local universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers, employers and other multi-agency providers within the careers sector, we equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to pursue pathways.
All staff in the building prioritise raising the aspirations of our students, however, there are specific staff with designated career roles:
