Year 7 students had an unforgettable experience at the Commando Rugby School, hosted by The Royal Marine Commandos., it was a remarkable opportunity for students to engage with the armed forces and learn about the diverse career paths available within the Royal Marines.

The day was filled with excitement and learning as Dave and his team of instructors shared their experiences in the Royal Marines. They provided students with a unique insight into life in the armed forces, discussing various aspects of their roles and the opportunities available for young people considering a future in this field, with the importance if respecting others and working together. 

Throughout the day, Year 7 students participated in a range of activities designed to build teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills. These activities included team-building exercises, outdoor pursuits, and life skills experiences that are crucial for personal development and future success, vital skills learnt such a first aid, navigation and survival techniques. each student learning the importance is being a good citizen and working hard to achieve. 

The Rugby Commando School were impressed with Unity Academy Year 7 students efforts and enthusiasm all using our core values "Ready, Respectful, Safe" It was a pleasure to see the entire year group come together, learn, and have fun in such a dynamic and inspiring environment.

 

Miss Pike Head of Year 7 & PE Teacher at Unity Academy states -  The highlight of the day was the team competition, where students worked together to complete various challenges. At the end of the event, the coveted trophy was awarded to the house that showed the best teamwork overall.  Congratulations to Green House for their outstanding performance and to Mr. Cottam’s leading his team to victory!
