Christmas Album

As we were unable to hold our carol service this year, the children in Years R-6 came up with the idea of making their own Christmas Album so that their grown-ups at home could listen to some songs whilst decorating the tree or wrapping presents and begin to feel really Christmassy. We have created our first Christmas album comprising a song or poem from each class. The children have been enthusiastic in learning their lyrics and practising hard and have made us very proud.

Christmas fundraising.

During December the children have been thinking about how to support others and have taken part in Christmas Jumper Day and The Elf Run to raise money for Save the Children and for local charity Brian House.  As well as this, one big hearted year 6, Lynden Anderson, decided that he would take his leadership role as a prefect very seriously. He has completed a 30 day No Device Challenge and been sponsored by all of his family and friends. He has undergone this tricky challenge to ensure that he raised enough money to buy treats for every child in school so that they all receive a Christmas surprise.

Christmas books

The children were also lucky enough to receive books from Blackpool Catering Services and the National Literacy Trust as part of the Get Blackpool Reading Campaign. Get Blackpool Reading is a community-driven campaign led by the National Literacy Trust in partnership with Blackpool Council and the Blackpool Opportunity Area. It was amazing to see the children so enthused over the beautiful books. So much so that lots of them brought them to Christmas lunch with them!
