Last week, the Unity Science Department took part in National Science Week, celebrating science across the Academy.

Of the activities going on during the week, each science, biology, chemistry and physics, was treated to its own unique presentation to our students.

Some younger pupils studied light as a preparation to further studies into space next term. They designed posters on “How we could live in space”, which were entered in the “Unity Life in Space!”

The older pupils investigated the elements of the periodic table and the interaction of plants and animals. This resulted in a Giant Human Periodic Table with each student representing a different element in the table. Others made a Giant Food Chain, linking drawings of herbivores and carnivores across the playground.

The week finished with the whole Academy viewing the Solar Eclipse, some watching on screens, others through specially constructed viewers they had made in science classes.

IN UNITY WE SUCCEED!
