Reading Rocks

The 2022 Reading festival was a fun filled day enjoyed by close to 1000 people from Unity Academy and the local community. Crowds of people joined a raft of authors, poets and performers to share the love of the written word. Children and adults alike had the opportunity to listen to readings, take part in games and activities and even get their face painted and wear festival glitter!.

The atmosphere was buzzing as book enthusiasts visited all of the stalls. With the sound of the Junk yard orchestra filling the air as children had a go at making music from recycled items the festival feeling was apparent.

Many children entered the book mark competition and two Kindles were awarded as prizes allowing the children to continue with their  excitement about reading at home. 

One child rushed past, eager to see what else he could look at shouting "Best day ever!" I don't think we can ask for more than that!
