This half term Year 2 have taken part in Forest School. Children have learnt about habitats and how specific habitats provide for the basic needs of things living there. They made their own habitats using tarpaulin, sticks and string.
Children also learnt how animals find their food. They went on a hunt through the forest to find things animals might eat. They found fruit that had been eaten by creatures and spotted some bird feeders hidden in the trees. Children then made their own bird feeder and filled it with fresh seeds for the birds to enjoy.
They planted some vegetables to be eaten later in the year and checked on how the potatoes were growing. Mrs Batemen then treated them to hot chocolate in the log circle. It was delicious.
