Yorkshire residential for Unity geographers!
Students from years 10 and 11 recently spent a full weekend taking part in various activities at high adventure in Yorkshire.
The aspiring geographers spent one day studying various features along the course of a river such as waterfalls, gorges, meanders and river management methods.
The students showed exceptional subject knowledge and understanding of the key processes at these sites. Later on in the day students went caving at the source of the river ribble, exploring the origins of the river and analysing the different methods of erosion the river has caused through the limestone rocks.
In the evening students participated in archery and high rope activities, showing real resilience and commitment - especially when they had to jump from a 30ft pole!
