Last week, our students went diving with sharks, climbed volcanoes and walked the streets of ancient Rome - all from the comfort of their own classroom!
Classes, ranging from year 2 to year 8, chose a subject to study in advance and we’re able to visit locations some people can only dream of!
The power of the Google Expeditions app paired with the Google cardboard viewer allowed our students to fully immerse themselves in each location giving them a deeper understanding of the world beyond the classroom. Primary classes chose to explore the ancient ruins in Rome, whereas our older secondary students preferred to visit volcanoes and dive with sharks.
Over a million students in 11 countries have been on these virtual trips since 
Google Expeditions launched back in September 2015 and now Google have made the Expeditions program available to everyone – all you need are Google Cardboard devices and smartphones, or tablets in 2D full-screen mode.
Michael Goldie, Primary Teacher said: “Google Expeditions proved itself to be a fantastic way to engage students and give them a first-hand understanding of a subject. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed every minute.”
