Pupil of Unity Academy Blackpool, Byron Greenwood, had the weekend that most ten year olds would only dream of last week. On Saturday, he scored 2 goals for his football team then gained man of the match.
Then came Sunday!
Byron represented Blackpool & Lancashire in the 2014 BTA Interclub Taekwondo Open, which was held in Sheffield.
Byron has competed in a Taekwondo competition up until now.
He firstly competed in Patterns, where he narrowly missed out on Gold by only 2 Points, however he was awarded a very creditable Silver medal for his efforts.
Then he went into the sparring ring where in his first session he won in just 18 seconds!!!
After reaching the final, unfortunately Byron narrowly missed out on a gold again, but definitely earnt himself another worthy silver.
His coach Master Ben Constable 4th Dan stated:
“Byron is a credit to his family, school and club. He puts 1000% into everything he does! And I can not ask for any more then that, from any student! He has done fantastically well for his first ever competition! I am extremely proud of him and all my students!”
Master Constable is hoping to set up a school in Blackpool very soon, once a suitable venue is found.
